It's SNOWING

Nothing but big, super-fluffy snowflakes outside. Kind of makes me want to spend all day curled up on the couch, playing with the ratties and drinking hot chocolate.
So...in an attempt to be productive, I'm going to put up a few new prints. That's work, right?

Front Page News

I have certain goals for my art, here are some of them (this is Colleen speaking, test test):

One, to get on the front page of Etsy.
Two, be shown in galleries.
Three, be published in books. Preferably art history ones. ;)
Four, be mentioned in Antiques Roadshow. (sadly, I'll never really know if or when this happens)

Number one and two have been taken care of already....I think I need to come up with some more goals now!

Oh yes, we were on the front page of Etsy! But not for long, as "Sorry, it had to happen sometime" was bought just moments after I was told about the front-pageyness.
Here's a clicky-link to our Flickr page: screencap, ahoy!

Look! I painted a bunny!

And yet...it's still kind of gloomy.

I'm quite proud of that fact.

Things are Working!

Yesterday our computer gave us a nice surprise by deciding it would communicate with the scanner. Isn't it nice when we all get along?

I'm not sure if it's because of this or that I'm still slightly delirious from being sick, but I've been making LOTS of new prints for the store. Three went up yesterday, two today, and I've also put up a new painting and a new monster.

It's time for a nap now, right?

Phil has been trying to learn all sorts of new ways to cook eggs; most recently--Poached Eggs! I am hoping he tries that new recipie with artichoke and saucy sauce and poached egg....

Stuff and Things

It's finally cooling off in Upstate New York, and Halloween (our favorite holiday) is fast approaching. Both of us are in great spirits because of this! (*winces from the bad pun*)

Another painting and another doll:

Sweeeets

I've been craving sugar like mad lately (as opposed to just craving it normally, hehe). I think perhaps that's how the Marshmowls came into existence...

They are currently residing here.

Cheaper Little Series

We've decided to make a series of smaller, simpler paintings; All of these will be $50 or less.
So far we have:
Lepidoctopus

And the not so elusive Trouser Sock Snake:

Colleen hasn't had this much fun painting in a long time. :)

There's a whole bunch of monsters up in the store, which are now all 20 bucks.

There's also new prints and a new painting:

We've also signed up for the Salt City Urban Art & Craft Market, which is going to be on Saturday, October 24th. (we won't get notified if we're in for sure until Sept. 11th)

Go to www.saltcitycraftmart.com anyways and check it out! Looks like it's going to be a lot of fun!

Testing the Waters

It would be lovely to have a nice dip in the water. But is it too cold?

The octopus tests the waters while birds egg him on.

It seems just about right...

It's been quite a while since we've updated...apologies all around!

So what have we been up to lately (besides video games and tattoos...)?

Well, we have a new print up in the store, Flotsam:

We're also going to be part of the 2009 Wescott Art Trail, which is on June 6 & 7th. (10am to 5pm) We'll be at 107 Berkley Drive in Syracuse, along with many other artists, such as Amaranth Press & Bindry(they make handbound journals and sketchbooks) and the Rivercity Craft Gang (who have mustache pillows and plush lighting). Come see us, and poke our stuff!

We just picked up paper and ink yesterday and have been printing test sheets. Broke the printer after a bit... (*notcolleensfaultreallycoffcoff*)then had Phil fix it. We also ordered some other goodies(clear bags and whatnot) from the internet, which means that when they come in, we can start selling prints! Yaaaay!

Stew

There's a new, set up...watch out for Stew!

Stew isn’t too bright , but that doesn’t stop him from operating on the brains of drugged up wedding planners. Stew believes all you need is determination to follow your dreams (and a drill).

Prints!

One of the things we hear most about PieNOW is "Gee, I love your paintings, but I can't afford to get one right now." Because of that, we will soon be offering prints! Hooray!
Just got to get papers...and inks...and other fun items. :)

Thursday, April 16, 2009

It's Thurday, What are you going to do?

There's a new plushy up at PieNOW, he's soft and velvety. Like cake.

Balloon Boy works at the Ritalin Bros. Carnival Side Show. Unfortunately, he has no legs, so the only thing he is useful for is to tie the balloons to. He has a small fan club located in Des Moines, Iowa.

No Rain Today

This was posted in our shop today because it's actually not raining in Syracuse today! Bring out the party hats!

We actually don't mind the rain too much, it just tends to get a bit monotonous after a while.
And the most important thing...it isn't snow! Yay!

Babbage

Another day, another doll posted.

Say hello to Babbage:

Babbage founded an number of societies, including the Royal Astronomical Society, made advances in the theory of Algebra and responsible for many inventions.

Somewhat random:
It is a bad idea to put your drink glass next to the glass you wash paintbrushes in.

New Doll/Painting Set

Just like the title says, we have a new set posted on our etsy site. Say hello to Ox and Jab!
Here's a bit about them:

Ox and Jab were a popular comedy duo in the early 30’s. You may perhaps remember their famous skit “Who’s On First Street?” After they broke up (due to management issues) Ox wrote a number of children's books and Jab was kicked off a few reality shows.

This is the First One

Here's to the start of Pie Now's blog! We'll have updates to our Etsy store, what's going on in the so-called real world, and random tidbits and musings.

Or at least that's what we tell ourselves. :)
